Taking part in Cancer Research UK sugar-free February was not always a walk in the park! With temptation lurking around every corner including working on a Cake-Making Business website, sugar found in almost everything, it was time to get creative and find new ways of eating and replacing the usual sugar cravings!
What did going Sugar Free in February teach me?
During this challenge I learned:
Would I recommend this challenge?
Yes, I would recommend going sugar free as an eye-opening education to what you are eating and more importantly what is in the foods you are eating.
Would I recommend a sugar-free lifestyle?
No, I would not recommend this as a lifestyle, there is very little you can eat unless you embrace a complete wholefoods diet and it makes eating out quite difficult. I also don't believe it's part of a balanced diet, you can enjoy treats in your life after all it's enjoyable but as the age-old saying goes "everything in moderation" or as the modern saying goes 'as long as it's part of a calorie deficit'! Denying yourself sugar across the board is just not all that fun!
Final note on Sugar Free February and why I took part?
Once a year, Consultancy Forty7 likes to take part in raising money for charity, I knew this challenge would be tough which is why I signed up for it, no point in making it easy when it's for a good cause! Too many people suffer as a result of Cancer and I am really glad to help where I can and hopefully you can too.
